World Book Day - 2024

We were asked as a team to do something for 'world book day'. So with Meera's support we collapsed down;  Drama, English, Art & ICT to collaborate and produce a world book day assembly. 

Katrina worked on the creative 300 word stories in English with all students and supported them to write these during lessons over a week, Nicole worked on the backdrops and props needed for the stories and had all students painting and making these in their art lessons. In drama lessons it was Lesley who brought the stories to life with the use of the props, sound effects and the backdrops along with some beautiful reading, these were performed in assembly. 

Hanif then in ICT had students turning the stories into books with pictures to share around the groups.  This by far is one of the most creative world book days we have ever produced and hope to do something similar next year. 

We had four groups take part and all won a prize; 

1st prize went to Elm with "Skeggie under siege" - £50 voucher

2nd prize went to Willow with "The Tunnel" - £25 voucher

3rd prize went to Maple with "The FNCS tragedy" - Murder mystery pack

4th prize went to Cedar with "Adventure at Madame Tussauds" - Escape Room game
