As part of our Black History Month celebrations, LPS students had a fantastic visit from Jojoba Drumming. Each of our groups had an opportunity to try out a range of different instruments, while also learning a little bit of the history and culture surrounding them.

After a little bit of practice, each group had the opportunity to take part in a final performance, with all instruments together, to show off what they'd learned. The energy and collaboration were incredible to see.

This visit was a powerful reminder of what Black History Month is all about: not just learning about history, but actively celebrating the vibrant, living cultures that have shaped, and continue to shape, our world. By providing such a hands-on, joyful, and communal experience, our students were able to connect with Black history and culture in a truly meaningful way.
